footVolunteers

Just Drop-In is proud to be anchored within its local community, providing local services for local people. Volunteers often provide the bedrock that makes this happen and we couldn’t offer the services we do without them.

Volunteers work across all our services including Counselling, Wellbeing Activities, and Wellbeing Groups. Professionals also volunteer their specialist skills behind the scenes and we are strengthened by their specialist knowledge and abilities. We are proud to have over 40 Volunteers selflessly giving their time to children and young people.

We are firmly committed to diversity in all areas of our work. We believe we have much to learn and profit from diverse cultures and perspectives.

We welcome volunteers of any age, background or experience.

NOW RECRUITING FOR WELLBEING GROUP VOLUNTEERS

We welcome volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and are committed to our volunteer team being as diverse as the community of children and young people we support.

As a group volunteer you will be allocated to a group depending on your skills or interests. We have two age categories for our groups, 11-17 and 18-24. As a group volunteer you will; support young people to feel welcomed into the group, assist them with communication and interacting with the other group members, participate in activities alongside them offering help and support if needed, and support the staff member leading the sessions.

Current groups are as follows:

  • Drop Zone – Monday evening – Peer Support & Activity Group for 11 – 17’s

  • Gym / PT – Physical Activity Groups – Rolling 12 week blocks on a Tuesday afternoon (18-24’s 14:30 – 16:00 and 11-17’s 16:00 – 17:30)

  • Adult Drop Zone – ADZ! – Alternate Tuesday evenings – Peer Support & Activity Group for 18 – 24’s

  • Create & Relate – Wednesday afternoon – 16:00 – 17:45 – Safe & Nurturing space for young people aged 11 – 17 to take part in craft activities and socialise with others – held at The Silk Museum

  • Know Your Worth – Thursday afternoons – 8 week block of sessions – This course is designed to create a safe and nurturing environment where teen girls can grow their self-esteem, recognise their strengths, build resilience, and develop a healthy self-image empowering them to make good decisions.

  • Bright & Bold – Alternate Thursday evenings – Peer Support and Activity Group for 18 – 24’s providing a safe space for young people from the LGBTQ+ Community

To be a Wellbeing Group Volunteer at JDI you do NOT need any previous experience of working with young people. It is more important to us that you are value led and can bring your own unique lived experience and use it to help you to relate to the young people attending the group.

This role is also being advertised on the Cheshire East CVS Volunteer Hub: Wellbeing Group Volunteers
