Course Information
Our sleep workshops are open to parents of children aged 8-16. Led by trained Sleep Practitioners Jennie and Lisa, we aim to support you in understanding why your child may be struggling to sleep, possible causes of sleeping issues and importantly, what you can do to help your child and family to get better sleep.
The workshop is split over 3 sessions:
1: The science of sleep
2: Practical strategies, tips and advice
3: One to one telephone parent session (arranged individually with Sleep Practitioner)
Jennie trained as a Sleep Practitioner with the Sleep Charity and has over 15 years of experience of working with children aged 3-21 years of age. In addition to this, she also has experience working alongside parents through a children’s Counselling role and in a Therapeutic Parent role for charitable services such as Mind, Seashell Trust and David Lewis. Jennie is currently a Wellbeing Project Worker for Just Drop-In, and has a specialist interest in children and young people with additional needs and neurodiversity challenges.
Lisa is a Wellbeing Project Worker for Just Drop In, offering 121 mentoring and Early Help Friendship groups to our young people. Lisa is a trained Sleep Practitioner, Qualified Counsellor and Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA). Lisa has over 12 years of experience in supporting young people as a Counsellor, ISVA, and Pastoral care within a school. Lisa is very passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and build self-esteem, and also has a special interest in young people’s mental health.
