Counselling

Counselling

Feeling unhappy, confused or that something just isn’t right? Just Drop-In offers free, confidential counselling to anyone aged 12-25, available between 10am to 8pm.

Counsellors are trained to listen and find a way to help using a variety of different approaches. There isn’t usually much of a wait, but you will need to make an appointment.

It can be tough growing up with pressures on young people coming from any and every angle – school/ college, family, relationships, finding or keeping a job, money troubles, bullying etc.. If pressures build up and it all gets too much, young men in particular can find themselves getting angry, drinking too much, hitting out or even self-harming.

One of Just Drop-In’s male counsellors comments on his experience as a counsellor:

“It might not seem obvious at first, but talking to a counsellor such as me may help. Having worked with a lot of young men, I understand some of the problems facing young people today. Together we can look at what’s really bothering you. We can talk in confidence – which means no-one else need know – and you are in charge of what we talk about. In my experience it usually helps reduce sad, angry or any other feelings and make’s life more fun again. Why not give it a try, what have you got to lose?”

If you think counselling might help or just want to find out more get in touch.

The service is run by BACP Accredited Counselling Coordinator, Lisa Goodchild and a small team of qualified volunteer and student therapists, who abide by the BACP ethical framework for good practice.
