Why Counselling?

Are you struggling to cope at the moment?

Are you upset, things getting on top of you?

Are you experiencing any of the following?

  • Problems at home/school
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Anger
  • Difficulty making decisions
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Loneliness or confusion
  • Life pressures
  • Sexuality issues
  • Bullying/conflict
  • Bereavement/loss
  • Feel like no- one cares or understands

All these issues and many other problems can be stressful.

It is at these times that you may need extra support.

A TROUBLE SHARED IS A TROUBLE HALVED.

How can counselling help?

A counsellor will:-

  • Listen to you with concern and respect without judging you.
  • Encourage you to express your feelings.
  • Understand that it can be difficult to share your feelings with someone you don't know.

Help you discover new ways of coping with your difficulties.

The counselling service is confidential within limits; these will be discussed with you at the initial meeting.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO STRUGGLE ON YOUR OWN.

What happens next?

If you would like to see a Counsellor, you can ring (01625 665079), email or call in to arrange an initial appointment.

The first appointment will give you and the Counsellor a chance to talk privately about what's going on and any problems or difficult times you might be going through. It gives us a chance to get to know each other and to decide if counselling is right for you.

Counselling sessions will be arranged, as far as possible, to suit your needs as regards times available.

Counselling sessions will last up to 50 minutes and will normally be at the same time every week.

The number of sessions varies from person to person and this wil be agreed with your counsellor.

Come to a safe place where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings in private.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SUFFER ALONE.
