Volunteers are the bedrock of Just Drop-In; we couldn’t offer the services we do without them. We are firmly committed to diversity in all areas of its work. We believe that we have much to learn and profit from diverse cultures and perspectives, and that diversity will make our organisation more effective in meeting the needs of all our stakeholders. We welcome volunteers of any age, background or experience – including young people themselves.

We currently have four volunteer roles within our team; download the descriptions and take a look at them in more detail here:

There are plenty of training opportunities available here at JDI and during 2019, we have been busy creating a new training timetable for our volunteers; this shows the entire year of scheduled training in advance with new opportunities ranging from safeguarding and youth work to tackling specific specialist issues such as counselling and mental health issues.

Experienced volunteers can go on to lead projects or work with staff and trustees to review and improve our service. And it’s not just face to face work; we have a select number of volunteers outside of the roles above who are also needed to help with I.T, maintenance, publicity and marketing. If you think you have something to offer, get in touch with Faye on

Our value and commitment to volunteers has been recognised through achieving Investing in Volunteers National Quality Mark from 2015-2018 and more recently, the Queen’s Award for Volunteering (2017), something everyone at the organisation is very proud of.qavs_logo
